Therapet Animal Assisted Therapy Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to faciliate the use of animals in the healing and rehabilitation of acute and chronically ill individuals.
Therapet works to accomplish this through the education and training of health care professionals, evaluation and training of animals and human volunteers, as well as the establishment of ANIMAL ASSISTED THERAPY programs throughout the country.
The Executive Director of Therapet, Shari Bernard-Curran, is a registered Occupational Therapist. She began utilizing Animal Assisted Therapy with her patients 20 years ago and has been named the Leading Expert in AAT by Town and Country Magazine.
