Therapet Miniature Horses

Therapet has added miniature horses to the existing program with tremendous success. These miniature horses were either donated to the Therapet Foundation for use in this unique program, or are owned by volunteers in the organization.

The Miniature Horses have to pass a temperament test, veterinary screening, and attend training sessions yearly to maintain their certification. Once certified, the horses work at a variety of special needs camps, pediatric and adult rehabilitation hospitals, and psychiatric facilities.

From the moment the foals are born, we begin our work with them. They are socialized daily to noises and people of all ages. Once weaned from their mothers, the minis begin their training in classes, learning the skills that will make them Therapets.
